Mayor Acker called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. and acknowledged that City Council meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 territory.

Mayor Acker congratulated the Brooks Bandits for winning the 2023 AJHL championship.

Mayor Acker expressed heartfelt sympathy for those affected by the current wildfires.

Mayor Acker acknowledged the tragic loss of one of the City's residents in last week's fire.

The City Clerk read an email submission on behalf of Rachel Stephen and circulated the photos of the trees to Council that were attached to the written submission.

Gordon Pocha of Spruce Grove, was present to make a statement regarding the Aspen Glen park activity during the lunch hour. 

David Wolanski, General Manager of Community and Protective Services, provided that Administration will follow up with the School Resource Officer.

Corey Levasseur, General Manager of Planning and Infrastructure, provided that the Administration will look at the spacing of the garbage receptacles and adjust accordingly.

David Wolanski, General Manager of Community and Protective Services, provided an Unsheltered update and an update on wildfire support offered by the City of Spruce Grove.
